Hello Kitty is doing her bit for the good of the world! The “Kittyrobot” exhibition is being held in Tokyo in support of the thousands affected by last year’s Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. The “Kittyrobot” exhibition will feature over one hundred customized Hello Kitty dolls. These one-of-a-kind dolls have been created by a whole host of Japanese and other international artists, including sports figures, bands (J-Pop & K-Pop), TV stars, actors, and fashion designers! The theme of the exhibition, as the name suggests, is of Hello Kitty in the future. Accordingly, the hall is designed to look like a cavernous room from the future, complete with a giant Hello Kitty robot, a flying Hello Kitty, and a giant winged Hello Kitty on top of a rocket ship. Attendees can also participate in games to bring an injured Kittyrobot back to life. After the exhibition is over, these dolls will be all auctioned off, and the proceeds will be donated to the Earthquake relief.
The Kittyrobot exhibition runs from August 12th to 19th, 2012 at Omotesando Hills in Tokyo. You can attend this exhibition for an entrance fee of 500 yen (approximately $7) for adults, and 300 yen (approximately $4) for high school students, while your kids can get in for free! It is truly a must-see exhibition if you are lucky enough to be in Japan during those dates.
